Angelica has been such a gift to me and my family. After 5 years of fertility struggles and multiple miscarriages, I was searching for any “unconventional” approaches in an attempt to leave no stone unturned. In reading her reviews at the time, I wasn’t able to find any particular success stories that were specific to infertility; however, the gushing reviews of others expressing how she’d changed their lives in other ways were enough to encourage me to give it a try. My first appointment was almost an hour long. She truly made it a point to get to know me, and we talked about so many things besides pregnancy. I’ll never forget the line that really stuck with me that day and made me know it was the right decision to continue working with her– “Your goal isn’t to get pregnant. It’s to have a healthy baby.” Such an obvious statement, but also something no one had said to me up to that point. We started with some root cause healing and specific recommendations for my overall health first. She was very honest in sharing that although she could start fertility acupuncture treatments right away, she didn’t think my body was ready. I continued seeing my other doctors as well and shared details from those appointments with Angelica, and she was always very respectful of working alongside them. Each appointment I’d show up to anxiously awaiting for a protocol shift and admittedly feeling a bit impatient each time she’d assess things and say “not yet.” After about 2.5 months of this, she switched from “not yet” to “you’re ready.” We changed our schedule up for upcoming appointments, and she told me her prediction was that it would take 3 months to work. When I came to the following appointment (the first fertility treatment), she changed her tune and said “actually, I give it a month.” I wasn’t sure if I should laugh at the absurd prediction, remain skeptical, or put my hope in her that this was different than past situations. I found out two weeks later that I was pregnant, which occurred during the first treatment cycle. I continued seeing her through the first trimester due to my history of early loss. She was so encouraging and uplifting–I felt like each appointment was an acupuncture treatment, mini therapy session, and a chat with a friend. My son is now one year old, and I’m confident that without coming to Angelica, we would not have him. I am forever grateful for her, the expertise, and the care she shows each of her patients.

In the past I have gone to Dr. Kokkalis for TMJ and lower back pain. She helped me with both of these conditions. She has a great knowledge of Chinese medicine. For the past several months I have been treated through traditional methods for plantar fasciitis; oral anti-inflammatory drugs, physical therapies, exercise, scraping and a lot of money on arch supports. I was in agony until I called Dr. Kokkalis two weeks ago. I am getting my third treatment today. After 1 treatment I could tell a difference. She has told me I should expect 4-6 treatments.
